M. Taylor Killingsworth is a student of Richmont Graduate University, where he is working on his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Madison received his B.S. in Psychology from Bryan College in 2020. Taylor is entering his final year with Richmont, and he is excited that he is pursuing his dream of becoming a counselor. Since he was a child, he has always dreamed of helping others.
Taylor approaches counseling with the perspective that the client is the expert of their own life. His goal is to help his clients achieve their goals that draw them closer to their ideal self. He helps his clients achieve their goals through a variety of techniques and counseling theories. Some of his favorites include the psychodynamic approach, which focuses on how one’s past affects one’s present and future, as well as person centered therapy, which focuses on providing the client with a safe, warm, and trusting environment so they feel they can truly begin the healing process. True healing takes place within relationships, and the counseling relationship is no different. Taylor aims to assist his clients in overcoming anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, family issues, and stress. He is looking forward to collaborating with clients of all ages and backgrounds. He sees his client as a holistic person with a mind, body, and soul, and believes these parts play into each other throughout the client’s life and the counseling process.
Taylor enjoys spending time with his wife, his cat, and family. He often fills his days with studying for his classes, laughter with his wife and family, or enjoying a variety of different styles of games.
