Ally Newer is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), who obtained her Master’s in Social Work degree from the University of Tennessee- Knoxville in 2015, her Associate Nursing degree from Pellissippi State Community College in 2022 and is currently pursuing her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Master’s degree through East Tennessee State University. Ally is passionate about connecting her educational experiences in assisting the clients work through complex psychological issues to improve mind and body functioning and overall health and well being of each client. Her experiences working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families in community, residential, and hospital settings has allowed her to become specialized in treating trauma, mood and personality disorders, suicidal ideation, self-harm, psychosis, and providing crisis stabilization, education and support services to individuals and families of those who live with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
Ally enjoys working with each client to tailor their treatment by identifying challenges unique to each individual. Together Ally and the client will explore the root cause of each issue and work to incorporate interventions and develop long term strategies that will assist each client in meeting their mental health goals. Clients will learn to integrate brain and body-based somatic and behavioral therapies poly vagal theory, DBT, and ACT with a trauma informed approach to assist them tune into their body to enhance their mind’s interactions with bodily functions to induce relaxation and improve overall health and well-being.
In her free time, Ally enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs. Together they like to travel and spend time outdoors hiking or spending time on the water or listening to live music.
